As of April 30, 2007
The Tahoe City Marina Master plan was approved and the EIS certified by the TRPA on February 23, 2005 and the Placer County Planning Commission approved the Master Plan and certified the EIR on March 24, 2005. Only Phase I and Phase IA were approved at this time. The Phase I layout will look similar to what you see here but we will update the Phase I layout as we get a little closer to the final drawings. The final EIS/EIR is available online at www.trpa.org/default.aspx?tabindex=0&tabid=221, as well as the Master plan itself.
At this time Redevelopment is moving forward in their process for building the parking structure and their initial schedule shows a tentative completion date of May 1, 2009. Currently the parking structure has been submitted to the TRPA for permit.
The TCPUD along with the Harbormaster building are moving together with construction commencing on the TCPUD project May 1, 2007, construction of the Harbormaster building to begin on August 1, 2007.
The Marina itself is currently in the permit process (since August 2006) and anticipating construction of the structure to begin in the fall of 2007 and we would like to have the marina become operational in the summer of 2009. It is our goal to hopefully get all parties in this venture to expedite this project wherever possible so that it is not completed late but actually try to get it done early, many of us have waited a long time already!
It is our goal to start the process of reserving the new slips sometime in the fall or winter of 2007-08 that way we will pretty much know what will be built and how the schedule is going, the wait list for slips and moorings is currently so large TCM is no longer taking new names. For any questions e-mail us at, info@tahoecitymarina.com or call us at 530-583-1039. If you choose to email us please put 'boat slip' in the subject line or the request will not get to the right place.
We will try to keep you apprised of progress as we know it and if you have any questions you can email your inquiries to, jim@tahoecitymarina.com .
